Bike IQ 1.1: Navigation Voice, Rest Stops, and Smarter Auto-Pause

Release February 20, 2026

Our first major update since launch. Version 1.1 makes navigation more useful and rides more reliable, especially on longer routes.

Custom Navigation Voices

You can now choose the voice for turn-by-turn directions. A new screen under Settings lets you pick from available system voices by language and quality: Premium, Enhanced, or Default. Preview any voice before you ride. The app defaults to the best available voice for your language, but now you have full control.

Rest Stop Waypoints

Waypoints in the route builder can now be marked as rest stops. When you add a cafe, gas station, or other natural stop from search, Bike IQ tags it as a rest stop automatically based on the place category. Rest stops show as blue pins on the map and the elevation profile, and navigation treats them as leg boundaries so your turn-by-turn directions flow naturally through multi-stop routes.

Off-Route Detection and Rerouting

Miss a turn? Bike IQ now detects when you've traveled 50 meters off-route and offers to reroute you. The turn indicator changes to purple and a "Skip Waypoint" option appears if you've intentionally bypassed a stop. Tap it, and navigation reroutes to your next waypoint with an undo option.

Smarter Auto-Pause

Auto-pause no longer flickers on and off at traffic lights. Resume now requires sustained movement before the timer restarts. And when you manually unpause, the ride waits for actual movement before resuming, so you're not racing the clock while still clipped in at a red light.

Navigation Reliability

Navigation guidance now waits until you're actually moving before engaging, preventing false arrival triggers at the start. Route calculation failures now show a clear error with a retry option instead of failing silently. And the compass bearing at zero speed is more stable.

Plus fixes for lap reports, sensor connections, and weather data retries.
